Welcome to Converter: an easy to use, modern and versatile unit converter and more for iPad and iPhone. Now you can use the same converter on all these Apple devices. Easily share results using features like AirDrop, and Drag and Drop.
Converter also has VoiceOver, Contextual Menus and multiple windows for increased productivity and versatility. As always, the app is free and without ads.
Sign in to iCloud to sync your favorite units and measurements across your devices and with aio Calculator.
The main navigation is through the sidebar and tab bar. The sidebar is available on iPad and larger iPhone in landscape orientation. Sidebar entries are expanded using the › button.
The sidebar can be hidden for more screen space by touching ▥ on the sidebar. Show the sidebar using the same button (▥) which is on the navigation bar. You can also overlay the sidebar with a swipe from the left.
Use the tab bar on iPhone or iPad with less screen space to navigate app features. The same features from the sidebar are available on the tab bar.
The toolbar provides additional features. The buttons shown on the toolbar depend on the converter feature being used.
Hide the toolbar using the settings (⚙) button on the toolbar. Bring back the toolbar using the ◉ button on the navigation bar.
The column adjust button (◫) is present in measurement conversions and is used to add or remove a column from the units section.
The toolbar has a button for setting precision using a slider. The button shows the current precision; for example, 12 (12). Touch and hold the button to pick a precision from a list that previews each one. A pinch gesture can also be used to adjust the precision.
The Clear button (⌧) clears all values.
Select a Measurement on the left and units show on the right. The info (ⓘ) button on the unit allows features on results; for example, speech (♪), copy (⧉), paste, share (↑) and favorite. Each currency shows its country's flag next to its value.
Show desired units by marking them as favorites. When you are signed in to iCloud, favorite units and measurements are shared across all your devices with the same iCloud account, and with the aio Calculator app, so there is no need to mark the same units as favorites on each device. Turn this off in the Settings app under Apps → Converter → Converter Favorites.
You can use Contextual Menus (long press) for a preview of a measurement's units or to see previous results. Contextual menus are available in measurements, units and throughout the app for quick access to results and other app features as well as common settings.
You can also favorite measurements using contextual menu on the measurement.
Use the search field above the measurements to find a measurement by its name or by the units it contains; choose Measurements, Units or Both. Each result shows how many of its units match, and opening it carries the search into its units. Above the units, a second search field filters the units of the measurement on screen.
The app allows multiple windows on iPadOS. In Exposé (or on the navigation bar) you can tap the ⊞ button to create a new window.
You can also drag a feature from the sidebar to create a new window. Drag and drop can be used among multiple windows.
To close a window tap the ⊟ button on the navigation bar or use Exposé.
Settings allow you to adapt the app to your preference. Most settings are easily accessible by touching the settings (⚙) button on the toolbar; for example, show or hide the toolbar. Others are in the Settings app, under Apps → Converter: Quick Note, Spotlight indexing and favorites sync.
In Dates, Tank Capacity and Mixture, the toolbar can also be shown or hidden with a swipe from the right edge of the screen.
Choose System, Light or Dark appearance from Appearance in the settings (⚙) menu.
Experiment with these and set to your preference.
There are two Date calculators. Date Difference calculates the difference between two dates. Date Add or Subtract calculates a new date by adding or subtracting date values from a given date. Both calculators also work with time as well as date and time.
Use the contextual menu on a result for speech (♪), copy (⧉) and share (↑). The settings (⚙) menu changes the date format, short or long, and the date picker style, compact or large, and can hide the decimal value.
The app allows the estimated capacity of a tank to be calculated. The most commonly used tank types are available. The fill capacity as well as filled to a certain depth is calculated. The dimensions are always assumed to be from the inside and can be given in individual units or the same unit. A graphic is used to show the dimensions.
Results are automatically calculated once valid measurements are given. And are given in most common units used for tanks. For more units, a result can be sent to the Volume converter.

The Mixture calculator determines how much of one substance is needed to mix with another at a chosen ratio (e.g., fuel and oil). Here's how to use it.
1. Select Component – Tap Volume A (primary) or Volume B (secondary).
2. Enter Volume – Type the known volume.
3. Set Ratio (from 1 to 100) – Use the slider or ± buttons (e.g., 24:1).
4. View Result – The required amount of the other volume appears instantly.
Typically, the result is not associated with a unit. Open the Converter disclosure to select a unit and convert to other units. You can also Share or Speak the result.
Mail allows you to communicate with the developer to request new features or report problems. Expand to select the most appropriate type of communication. We'll do our best to respond as soon as possible.
The App Store entry allows you to share the app, submit a review or simply view the app in the App Store.
